Authentic Vegetable Lo Mein

Ingredients…Serves 6
1 lb Chinese Lo Mein Noodles..cooked and set aside
3 handfuls Baby Bok Choy
1 handful snow peas (trimmed)
1 red bell pepper..thin sliced
1 yellow pepper thin sliced
2 cups Shiitake mushroom thin sliced
1 large carrot (matchstick pieces)
4 scallions..white and green thin sliced
4 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tsp agave nectar
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
pinch red pepper flakes
1 tsp 5 spice powder

Directions for dressing all ingredients in a medium size bowl…whisk well and set aside..

Directions for Lo Mein..Heat a wok or large sauté pan over medium high heat coated with olive oil..add garlic and ginger..sautee 1 minute..add mushrooms, peppers and carrots and sauté 2 minutes mixing well..then add snow peas, Bok choy and scallions..As greens begin to wilt add Lo Mein noodles and sauce and fold together until well incorporated ..if noodles are stuck together run under warm water which will loosen them..add more soy sauce if needed…Remove from heat serve immediately .. Enjoy!

Tips..Have all vegetables cut and time is quick…do not overlook noodles..garnish with black and white sesame seeds

    1. Hi Chrisine🌞..You can use this sauce with lo mein…I have never used it with chow mein but think it would probably be fine..The 5 spice is really terrific in this..I have also used this sauce with sautéed vegetables in the wok..Really delicious ⭐️…Thanks🌞
